31-year-old Officer Arianna Reyes-Gomez was murdered on June 13, 2022 in the Bronx, NY. Officer Arianna was a police officer with the NYPD. Her husband Argenis Baez, 33, was charged with second degree murder. The couple have a 3-year-old child together.
Officer Arianna was killed at her home inside an apartment at 2:50 a.m. Argenis and Arianna were arguing. The situation escalated and Argenis is accused of stabbing Officer Arianna several times.
Officer Arianna was able to call a relative for help, that relative then called 911. Responding officers arrived on scene and found Officer Arianna dead with multiple stab wounds.
EMS pronounced Officer Arianna dead on site. Argenis had left the scene before police arrived. The couple’s 3-year-old child was not at the apartment when Officer Arianna was murdered.
The NYPD addressed the situation saying:
“Today, we mourn. Our hearts are heavy as we investigate the tragic murder of an NYPD officer who was off-duty last night in the Bronx. We’re here for her loved ones, her fellow cops – and to ensure the person responsible is brought to justice.”
Argenis turned himself in to police headquarters a few hours later, he is now charged with murder. The couple’s child is with a relative at the moment.
