New video shows when 3 construction workers in Charlotte, NC were killed in a construction scaffold collapse. The deadly accident was on January 2, 2023 at a construction site on East Morehead Street around 9 in the morning.

The 3 men that died were construction workers identified as Jesus Olivares, Gilberto Monico Fernández, and Jose Bonilla Canaca

High rise apartments were being built at the site. Several workers were working on a scaffold that was 70 feet high in the air, multiple stories tall.

The scaffold gave way and collapsed. The workers came crashing down to the ground and died on the scene. 2 more construction workers were hurt during the scaffold crash.

It is not clear what company the construction workers were employed with, and it is not clear who the victims are at this time.

OSHA and the NC Department of Labor will evaluate the construction site, and there will likely be violations, penalties, and fines.

A latino construction worker in Charlotte fell to his death during an accident on a skyscraper. His name was Juventino Mata-Hernandez.

Already in 2023 a 5-year-old girl was shot and killed in Charlotte.

In fact, 4 people total were killed on New Year’s Day 2023 in Charlotte.
