DRUNK DRIVER DECAPITATES MOTORCYCLE RIDER

Jose Diaz was drunk when his truck hit a motorcycle rider, decapitating the man.

The victim is identified as Miguel Angel Linarte Jacome.

The crash happened at the intersection of Central Avenue and Lansdale Drive in Charlotte, NC.

On Sunday January 27, 2019 at 9:43 p.m., the motorcycle was traveling on Central Avenue when the Chevrolet truck made a U-turn from the inbound lanes of Central Avenue into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the right front side of the truck and the truck continued to travel off road into a ditch eventually hitting a tree, all the while the victim was drug underneath the truck.

The force, entanglement, and impact decapitated the victim. Medics arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist, Miguel Angel Linarte Jacome, deceased.

Jose was charged with felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired, open container after consuming, no operator license, and safe movement violation.

The 287 (g) program would of identified whether Jose is in the United States legally or not, but Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden ended that program.
