20-year-old Karon Golightly died on May 14, 2021 at the Mecklenburg County Jail located at 801 East Fourth Street Charlotte NC.
Karon was an inmate housed at the jail. Karon was found unresponsive at approximately 9:58 a.m. on May 14, 2021.
Emergency first responders were called to the detention center and performed CPR. Karon was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:03 a.m.
Karon was arrested in 2019 and processed on state and federal charges.
