MAN DIES IN FATAL WEST CHARLOTTE COLLISION ON MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Ricky Dinkins, 31, was killed in a fatal motor vehicle collision on Memorial Day weekend 2022 on Freedom Drive Charlotte, NC. Ricky died on May 29, 2022. Many children were injured in the crash.

The wreck was at 9:59 p.m., Ricky was driving a Nissan car, allegedly in a reckless manner on Freedom Dr., side swiping a vehicle and continuing at a high rate of speed.

The Nissan entered the intersection of Freedom Drive and Toddville Road allegedly running a red light and colliding with a Cadillac Escalade driven by 40-year-old Michael Jordan.

Seven kids were in the Cadillac Escalade during the crash. The driver of the Cadillac and seven juvenile passengers were located on scene with serious injuries.

Upon medic’s arrival, the driver of the Nissan, Ricky was pronounced deceased due to injuries he sustained from the crash.

The Nissan had a front seat passenger that has life threatening injuries.

Several of the juvenile passengers were not correctly restrained in the vehicle. Impairment is suspected to be the leading cause of this crash.
