24-year-old Leshonte Jones died in a violent shooting right next to her 3-year-old daughter at an an apartment complex in Miami, Florida on May 3, 2021. The 3-year-old girl was injured in the shooting.
Leshonte was a TSA agent at Miami International Airport.
A dark gray four door Nissan pulled up to Leshonte while she was walking up outside apartment stairs and holding her daughter’s hand. A black male exited the vehicle and shot several shots at Leshonte, killing her on site as her daughter watched in horror.
Leshonte was coming home from work. Leshonte’s daughter was injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital, where her condition is stable.
Miami International Airport TSA Federal Security Director Daniel Ronan released the following statement:
“Yesterday we tragically lost one of our own TSA Officers who was killed as she returned home from the airport late in the afternoon. I am shocked and deeply saddened at the senseless act of violence that took a young, vibrant officer away from her family and away from us way too soon. Words just cannot properly convey the immense loss all of us are feeling at this moment.”
There was so much blood on the apartment staircase that it had to be pressure washed clean.
Two loving parents were shot and killed in front of their son during a double homicide.
